Mr. Goodbar very much enjoys dancing half naked to The Wiggles...

Kit-Kat turned 11...and instead of cake "I'm not a cake person" she requested blueberry pie...

We're calling this the picture of the year...

There may be one more headed for the orthodontists chair...stay tuned.

We're still working our furnishing this beast we call home...a TV stand is high on the list...

Although is you haven't watched Toy Story 3 like this, The Whoppers say you haven't lived...

Last but not least...Mr. Goodbar is still making the same face he did as an infant...we now call it The Stink Eye.

Anyway...

It's our life.

So...

I'm bored...

Not because there's nothing to do...

There's always plenty to do,

I mean I cook dinner for 10 people every other night!

But...

It's too quiet without my ladies...

After school is madness with homework, dinner, and bedtime routines...

but...

I must say, if this is a taste of empty nest syndrome...

NO BUENO!



On a brighter note...

So before Baby Ruth headed "back to school"...

We all headed to "back to school night"

It was lots of fun for everyone.

Baby Ruth tried out some instruments in music class..

They brought over some buses so the kindergartners

could get their feet wet with the whole bus experience...

As you can see Little Miss LOVED it.

And last but not least...

I was able to get this rare footage of two sisters

 enjoying each others company...

You don't see much of that in the wild??

Maybe it had to do with them being in there natural habitat??

The world may never know.

Falls under new normal...



Moms journal entries arrived at my sister's yesterday...

(she's saving them to make a book)

Guess there was a brawl in Moms wing last week...

The entire thing lasted about 20 minutes...

She's thinking that the cameras must be broken

because no officers came to break it up...

Weapons made of socks with padlocks in them

caused some lovely injuries...

Mom was able to make it through unscathed by finding a corner to hide in

and keep her eyes down...

See no evil hear no evil is the name of the game...

There's lots of questions but mom wasn't able to talk

about it over the phone...

First day rush...

So Miss Baby Ruth's first day was...

memorable...

See, the girls attend 3 different schools...

the way the grades are split here that's just the way it ended up.

Anyway...

So by the time I had dropped Kit-Kat and Chocolate chip off

there was NO parking left at Baby Ruth's school...

So...

We parked in the vacant lot next to the school and hoofed it in...

Well...

we were in a bit of a hurry so we were walking briskly...

Wouldn't you know my babe tripped and skinned her knee.

I picked her up, brushed her off and tried my hardest not to cry.

We finally made it into the gym where we were supposed to

line up behind the monkey...

except...

we were late so Mrs. H was leading the class out the other side

of the gym on the way to class.

We made our way through the maze of children and parents

finally catching up to them in the stairwell...

I told Mrs. H that Baby Ruth was bleeding

and I had to run her to the nurse for a band-aid...

She said no problem and she'd send her aid down to

pick her up.

I had just stuck the band-aid on when the aid arrived...

"Are you ready Baby Ruth?" she said

"Yep!"

and she was off the chair and racing down the hall...

"Baby Ruth, wait for me, I'm coming" said the aid with her hand in the air.

In all the excitement I didn't get to give her a hug and

wish her luck on her first day of school...

There will be more firsts but only one first first...

Baby Ruth being Baby Ruth didn't even notice...

Love her.

The sun was not cutting us a break for our pictures...



She couldn't even look up...

But I did manage to get this one while we waited in traffic...

Thank goodness!

So my little buddy and I made it back to the car where I was finally able

to lose it...

Where has the time gone?

 

It is upon us again...

Back to school reared it's ugly head again...

Kit-Kat and Chocolate Chip started a few days ahead of Baby Ruth...

Funny story about her first day to come...

They were all very excited to start once the actual day

arrived...some nerves and hesitation to be expected

but all in all...pretty excited.

I'm hoping we hit the jackpot with teachers this year...

Time will tell but so far so good...

 I plan to update the blog a lot more now

with only Mr. Goodbar to keep me busy...

There's still plenty to do around here but

things should calm down now that school is back in session...

Beachin' it...

So as it turns out we weren't able to get

to the beach as much as we would've liked...

Life it just busier these days...

We did manage to squeeze in a couple trips just before

it was time to head back to class.

Man do we need a lot of gear to spend the day...





Hunting for treasures in the tide pools is

what we spend most of our time doing...

                                                        And taking extreme close-ups...
