I am blessed...

I saw Dr G. today.
I brought my crew.
Some content to be there...
Some extremely bored.

Dr G. and I discussed this. He said nothing impressive and
he'll see me at the end of the year just to be careful.

Why the title?
The girls and I waited for an hour and a half to see the doc.
In that first hour I witnessed a woman's life change forever.
She was in the waiting room when we arrived.
She smiled at me and the girls but you could tell she was
worried...who wouldn't be, you're in the waiting room
of a breast surgeon's office.
I was there when she was called back and I was there when she
She was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I over heard the nurse saying she was in good hands,
asking if she had a good support system, telling her she
could call anytime for whatever she needed.
As she left the office she glanced over at me and started crying.
I wasn't worried today, even before the ultrasound I had on Monday.
I'll worry when there's something to worry about.
But at the same time, am I taking my health for granted?
Do I not appreciate how lucky I am?
Do I expect it?
I hope not.
I feel so blessed that I was able to walk out of that office
today with my health.
For whatever reason this woman was not. My heart goes out to her,
wherever she is.
